Volcanoes From Space

Growing up in the state of Washington, I have been exposed to my fair share of volcanic activity. I remember quite vividly watching Mt. St. Helens erupting many a time in the early two thousands. Of course, that was all from ground level. What would this have looked like from space?

That is exactly what we have here. Some are taken by satellites, some taken directly by astronauts aboard the ISS. The power displayed is awesome. And for a change, so is the photography. While most of us are used to the less than high resolution images thrust before us from google maps, these are the exact opposite.

Sit back, enjoy, and check them all out here.
